Filed July 1st 2007 and my I-485 was transferred from NSC->CSC->NSC. Have a I-485 receipt # that starts with WAC, but is currently pending at NSC. Any recent WAC# approvals?
Tried opening a SR - the SR# ends with CSC. I don't think it will help as SR was directed to wrong Service Center.
In addition to all USCIS inefficiencies, this transfer between service centers makes my case all the more confusing and even more unlikely to be approved anytime soon. Very frustrating!!

I'm working on L1 & have H1 petition without COS.
Can my H1 employer apply for COS, so that I can change my status from L1 to H1 without visiting India?
Also, I've an offer from a third company... can this company file for Change of Status from L1 to H1 & transfer the H1? I've the H1 petition I129 number, but no paystubs on H1. I've paystubs on L1.
Can I transfer to H1 to this third company? Will I have to get my H1 stamped frmo INdia then join this third company?
If not, is there any other option?
Please reply. Help appreciated.

I am wondering what kind of resistance, if at all, is the IV seeing in democratic controlled senate and congress seeing since these bills can be viewed as big business-supported or republican supported.
It would be good to get more democrats to sponsor these bills rathar just have them give lip service to our cause since they have the majority.

One of the comments on my post earlier today about the killed Border Patrol agent seemed pretty harsh - accusing most BP agents of being restrictionists with bad motives. I still think that's harsh and most Border Patrol agents are honestly out to do the necessary job of protecting our country's borders. As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

Every Tuesday, USCIS releases its data on the pace of usage of H-1B numbers. I'm monitoring that usage and projecting the end date for H-1B numbers. It's not complicated science, but I'm basically using a rolling average of the prior four weeks of H-1B usage to minimize the anomolies of one particular week and then assuming that usage over the prior month will continue at roughly the same pace. If usage picks up, the exhaustion date will be revised to be sooner and vice versa if usage declines. We actually saw a decline from prior weeks with 800 H-1B applications...

I have filed an appeal for a rejected I 140, which is I 290B.
I also filed a new I 140 using the same labor (EB3, august 2003)
Now I am seeing constant changes to LUDs to both status online, but the text doesnt change.
I 290B had LUD change for 3 days, and I 140 had LUD change for 3 days too.
I am confused now... does this mean they are working on the case?
constant changes like these furstrate me when there is no message or text change in status.
Can the gurus here predict according to similar trends? what can I expect?
