Guys,
We saw the September bulletin..
We knew what to expect..
But we were all a little hopeful to see some miracle happen.
And we were doing this every month.
NOW comes the count down we all were waiting for the last few months. Oct bulletin. In that, most of us are expecting some good news.. But what if it moves 3 months forward.. What if it moves 2 years forward. Then it will stop there for next 1 year, while we check every month.. Then it moves back.. Do we want this..
Its not going to make much difference to most of us here.
THIS IS THE TIME TO ACT NOW. We must all do some campaign may be flowers, may be cards, or I donno.
I have written today to all the six members or reps to help us, but a bunch of mails will not help. JUst imagine if all the people in waiting sent the letters. Imagine 100,000 mails going to each of them, or 100,000 flower bouquets going to all.
Please please, lets act now. These small fixes cannot help us. If they want to put any quota limit, that should be at the main entry level whatever the non-immigrant category. Not at the other point when people start applying for GCs and suffocate here. We dont deserve this.
Please Lets act now., ONce again.. We did it in the past and it helped..
We need to do it again... Together we can do it. Together ONLY we can do it..
EB2 guys and others who got approved.. Please dont forget what you went thru. Please put more efforts and help all in case you can .

I think everything will normalize in October. From RN, EAD may take three to four months.

Arrived in Jul 1999. Worked for a consulting company till July 2000 as consultant (client - a major computer server maker). Joined the client July 2000. Even now, same job, same designation. Luckily my employer applied for EB3 BEC labor (May 2004). Since it got stuck, my boss convinced exec mgmt to apply for EB 3 PERM in Aug 2006. PERM labor got thru in Nov 2006. PERM based I-140 got thru in March 2007. Applied for I-485 in July 2007. BEC labor came thru in Oct 2007. Filed I-140 for BEC labor and it got thru in Feb 2008. Interfiled and now PD on I-485 is May 2004 (EB3 - India).
On some site there was a way to know how many are ahead of me, given my PD, my nationality and my category. And looks like some 25,500+ EB3 cases are ahead of me.. Some 10+ years... Honestly, life has more to it than a colored card... let us move on with life... I will not allow the card to determine (ruin) my life...!!!!

Just got the email that Card Production Ordered. I hope it means the GC has been approved. Do any of you know of any situation like this?

I am sure you'll get GC by the end on this year or early next year. I might have called USCIS abt 15-20 times and from what I understand dates would retrogress for eb3 India, but not horribly. My guess in of the total applications in August 30% have older PD 02/03/04. Becuause pf PERM processing majority are 05/06/07.

Instead of doing all of this, First, if we able to make every one just take one day off from work on the same day through out the USA and let our employers and the press knows that we are doing this to show about our issues. We do not need to go on rally. At least if we take off on the same day through out USA to make sure people understand about our issues and our sufferings. I am not sure how it will help. At least if we make it to be notified by the government, .press, our employers. and the public about our issues.

I agree as well as disagree with Chandu.
India is where it is and US is where it is. Don't say you don't want to go because India is like this or want to get GC because US is like this. It's more like what you like or dislike (from India or US); hence you want to stay or go back. People prefer to stay place A as they cannot accommodate in place B and not because country cannot accommodate to what they like. I think that's more of a matter of personal choice.
Having said this, I agree to the fact that India has best things to offer "if once can afford" and "change should come to grassroots".
Moving back to the original question - do I feel like giving up? Yes, I do but I give up that feeling of giving up when I occasionally read what guild, plumberusa cartoons blabber and how much they hate us :)

Which state are you in? Try other means of financing for the car. Sometimes the dealers themselves have options but might be a % or two higher.
There was a previous post regarding admisibility of EAD as one of the documents for DL. You might want to search for that post. I asume you dont have an H1b, right?
I am on H1 and I140 approved. Bank of american denied my car loan. Infact Honda Finance too denied my loan. Finally I had to go with Credit union who gave me very good APR for my excellent credit history. So there is a way out guys ..we just have to live with it untill we get our GC

I don't see what is really different. I am not talking about July 2007. I am talking about May or June bulletin 2007. Do you mean the bulletin on May or June 2007 is to utilize the visa so the dates are not the "real" date? Then how do you know Aug. 2008 move is not for the same purpose? Especially if this movement is caused by spillover.
There is chance that CIS and/or DOS know the breakdown of categories by country now as against last year. That is being a bit on the optimistic side.
